Surviving to Thriving

My very first blog post addressed my decision for a much needed change in my professional career. Click to read about my metaphorical cliff diving. I am now three months past my "jumping" moment and am finally experiencing the splash. Even in just three short months I can tell that I have grown so much and I have gained my spark back!

I have learned new things, been stretched beyond what I thought my capabilities were, and even had a setback or two. It seemed scary and daunting to say "I've had enough" but, the outcome has been so worth that small bit of uncertainty. I know so much more about myself now and I’m better prepared for challenges when they come along. I’m excited about my work again and feel like I have the support from coworkers, and supervisory staff, to try new things. I greatly appreciate working in an atmosphere where I feel like a valued member of the team, instead of someone looking to “shake up” the status quo. Leaving my place of work for a new job was definitely a drastic move to take, but for me it was the right one.

Have you taken your leap yet? If you haven’t I hope you will give it some serious consideration because if you continue on, eventually you’ll have to look back and only be able to wonder “what if?”
